Back at the beginning of October I took a trip to RSPB reserve Leighton Moss with my camera along with Salford Wildlife Photography Society. The day dawned bright and cold with beautiful clear light, and, following an hour’s journey with five of us stuffed into one very small car amid a sea of rucksacks, we were there. Kitting up, we headed out for a wander down the various trails to the lookouts to see what we could see and very soon shutters were clicking.
Not only did I get the opportunity to photograph herons, native garden birds and waterfowl, but I was also lucky enough to enjoy the company of a kingfisher. Here are some of the results – more will be up shortly.
