Despite being the only regional facility so far to be consistently shortlisted for Best Post House throughout the Broadcast Awards’ lifetime, it seemed until recently that the spotlight remained reserved for London facilities. So it was especially sweet to watch everyone’s flabbergasted and delighted faces when they realised that, this time, finally, we’d actually won!
It was also fantastic to see Planet Earth II take home Best Documentary Series and Three Girls win Best Drama Series or Serial, all posted at Films at 59, as well as the evening’s Special Recognition go to the legend that is Sir David Attenborough.
With players like dock10 and Flix coming to the fore, and stalwarts like Gorilla continuing to deliver high quality content, the industry finally seems to be acknowledging that great programming gets made beyond the bounds of London.
